Open Louver

Construction

Click here to see the standard specifications for our Open Louver shutters. Most of the dimensions are customizeable and we are always happy to discuss ways to make your shutters unique.

Advantages

If your shutters will ever obstruct the window opening (for example being closed during a storm or permanently mounted over the opening Bermuda style) Open Louver is the way to go. Both the fronts and backs of Open Louver shutters are presentable, as opposed to the Closed Louver where the back of the shutter is a plain surface not intended to be seen. Because they let some air pass through, Open Louver are also the way to go for closet doors, bifold shutters, and vent covers.

Open Louver shutters are heavier duty, more traditional, and fancier looking than their Closed Louver cousins. Of course this all comes at a cost: not just in terms of purchase price, but also in terms of being more difficult to maintain (clean, prep and paint).

Open Louver shutters can be purchased with the following standard options:

Center Rail at 60-40 split
