Basic Terminology

Bevel |
the nice angled edge on all of our shutters. |
2. |
Bottom Rail |
the horizontal piece of wood that runs across the bottom of the shutter |
3. |
Mid Rail |
the horizontal piece of wood that runs across the middle of the shutter (totally optional) |
4. |
Louver |
the individual fixed or movable horizontal slats of the shutter. Ours are always fixed. |
5. |
Stile |
the vertical piece of wood that runs along the side of the shutter. |
6. |
Top Rail |
the horizontal piece of wood that runs across the top of the shutter. |
